New York City Goes Dead
To build buzz for the season two premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City, we staged a citywide takeover of New York, unleashing walkers across some of the city’s most iconic locations. From “running” the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon to handing out custom newspapers outside Penn Station, walkers seamlessly infiltrated everyday NYC moments. They served limited-edition bagel sandwiches at PopUp Bagels, made an appearance atop the Empire State Building, and turned the city itself into part of the story.
The takeover culminated at Citi Field, where walkers attended a New York Mets game for a one-of-a-kind VIP experience - joining batting practice with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, participating in the mascot race, and taking over the jumbotron.
The result was a highly visible, culturally relevant campaign that blurred the line between fiction and reality, capturing attention across the city and beyond.
